The stay was for my birthday and it was perfect. I wanted nature, quiet and animals, and I got all of that. The masia is beautifully restored keeping its original charm, there are 2 dogs and a cat that are super friendly and Montse is a attentive and welcoming host. We had dinner prepared every evening, with fresh ingredients and a lovely breakfast every morning to give us energy for the day. Montse will explain all the hiking routes and key attractions. Definitely coming back with the first chance we get!

A shower so good I had to turn down the pressure; really comfortable large double bed. Lovely views outside the windows of the spacious and comfortable guests' common room. Great location for visiting Besalu, which is lovely, and the Garrotxa, an area of beautiful woods and dormant volcanic peaks. The restaurant literally over the road provided excellent food in a very friendly environment. Finally our hostess was very friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Alles sauber und alles Notwendige in Küche und Bad war vorhanden. Gastgeberin Eli ist herzlich, hilfsbereit und gab uns gute Tipps. El Niu ist eine ideale Unterkunft für Wanderungen und Ausflüge in die Vulkanregion Garrotxa. Für Wanderungen nach Castelfollit, auf den Mont Ros mit der Kapelle Mare de Deu oder den Höhlen kann das Auto sogar in der Garage bleiben.

Wir hatten mit mitgeführten Motorrad eine Panne, wo Servicemitarbeiter an ihrem freien Tag uns zur Werkstatt begleitet haben - mehr geht nicht...
